Council Meetings

Your Council

Council Meetings

Council Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except for December where the meeting will be held on the 2nd Tuesday) commencing at 5:00pm. These meetings take place in the Council Chambers at, 93 Main Street, Kapunda, unless otherwise resolved by Council to an alternative location, and if so, the subsequent change of meeting location will be publicly advertised. Council meetings are open to the public, the public will only be excluded when considered proper and necessary i.e. the need for confidentiality outweighs the principle of open decision making.

From time-to-time Council may hold Special Meetings of Council for specific reasons. Separate special meeting agendas are issued at the time which may also be accessed through Council’s website.

An electronic link to the meeting will also be made available when the monthly Council meeting agenda is uploaded to Council’s website. If you are unable to attend in person, you are welcome to attend electronically via the link provided, but as an observer to the meeting we ask that:

  • Your microphone is to remain on mute at all times.
  • You do not type in the chat field.

Failure to follow the above meeting protocols, may result in you being removed from the meeting.

As Council meetings are live-streamed, recorded and made available to the public; as an attendee to the meeting, your presence may be recorded. By remaining in the meeting, it is assumed your consent is given in the event that your image and/or audio is broadcast.

Confidential Items

Section 90 of the Local Government Act 1999 provides that a Council or Council Committee may order the public to be excluded from attendance at a meeting. Council or a Council Committee will only make an order that a document associated with a discussion from which the public are excluded will remain confidential if it is considered proper and necessary in the broader community interest.

A register of the reports and/or documents, that are the subject of orders of confidentiality, is updated and reviewed quarterly. Council's Confidential Register can be accessed online.
