Tier 1 events have a standard competitive grants process with two rounds ($4,500 per round) to accommodate the different times of year events are held. The maximum grant amount per event is $1,000. These events are targeted at the local community to provide place-based activities in Light Regional Council villages and towns. These events focus on fun, entertainment and the value of being local. Eligible parties must be a not-for-profit organisation based (or primarily operating) within the Council area;
Grants are offered matching funding (1:1) equal to the amount requested from Council (excluding the value attached to 'in-kind' contributions, volunteer labour and services).
Acquittals must be finalised 30 days after event. Grants will be dispersed as follows; dispersed over two payments, the first payment (75%) on issue of an event permit and the second payment (25%) on Council receiving a complete Acquittal report.
Information should address and will be evaluated against two (2) Assessment Criteria – Community Pride and Responsible Events.
