Tier 2 Events is a competitive program that has grant funding and corporate sponsorship, that has two rounds per year ($15,000 per round) with a maximum of $5,000 per event for grants and Corporate Sponsorship. These are significant events in terms of the scale and the number of attendees, however they attract more locals and visitors from across the Barossa Tourism Region, neighbouring regions and greater Adelaide area.
Grants must be a not-for-profit organisation or a business (having appropriate registration i.e. incorporation and Australian Business Number [ABN]) based or primarily operating within the Council area;
Events can receive grants up to 5 yearly rounds and are reduced over that period of time. They then transition to having council becoming a sponsor of their event and they have to provide a comprehensive sponsorship package to council to consider.
Grants are offered matching funding (1:1) equal to the amount requested from Council (excluding the value attached to 'in-kind' contributions, volunteer labour and services).
Corporate Sponsorship can be considered for events held in our council area and event organisers/committees can be based inside or outside of our council area. A sponsorship package must be provided to council to consider.
Grants and Corporate Sponsorships will be dispersed as follows; funds to be dispersed over two payments, the first payment (75%) on acquiring event permit and the second payment (25%) on Council receiving a complete Acquittal report.
Information should address and will be evaluated against six (6) Assessment Criteria.
