Light Regional Council, in partnership with Solo Resource Recovery, is inviting residents to take part in our half yearly kerbside waste collection program designed to help households clean up, declutter and dispose of waste responsibly.
A limited number of residential kerbside collections are now available for eligible residents making it easier than ever to clear out unwanted items and keep our community looking its best.
Mayor Bill Close said the initiative is a great opportunity for residents to tackle those long-awaited clean-ups while supporting environmentally responsible disposal. “This program is all about giving residents a simple, convenient way to tidy up their homes and yards while ensuring waste is disposed of properly,” the Mayor said. “It helps protect our environment, keeps our neighbourhoods clean, and supports a more sustainable community.”
Extra Support for Responsible Disposal – As an alternative option to kerbside collections, Council are offering eligible residents an $85 EcoWaste Solutions disposal voucher, providing even more flexibility to manage waste the right way. Vouchers can now be used towards a skip bin (subject to EcoWaste conditions and site assessments), perfect for rural properties.
Don’t Miss Out – Book Early - Bookings are open for a limited time only: Monday, 07 September 2026 - Friday, 25 September 2026. With places strictly limited to 600, residents are encouraged to act quickly to secure a collection.
How to Book - Contact Solo Resource Recovery direct on phone: 08 8159 5054, or Email: adelaide.ops@solo.com.au.
Important Information - Hard waste is limited to two cubic metres – no mattresses. Once all kerbside collection places are filled, Eco Waste Solutions vouchers will still be available until bookings close.
Eligibility Criteria - to qualify for the Hard waste Kerbside Collection, residents must currently be within the Township 3-bin waste area with a current service (Residents with Rural opt-in 3-bin services are not eligible for the kerbside collection component). EcoWaste vouchers are available to residents within township or rural areas.
