Joanna Mclean

From my earliest days in school, I've been enamoured with the world of creativity, constantly exploring different mediums and techniques.

My preferred methods to draw include pencils and chalk pastels, each allowing me to capture fine details. You'll find that my style is characterized by its brightness and vibrancy, as I aim to infuse every piece with a sense of energy and life.

I usually paint with acrylic, inspired by the Impressionists, particularly artists like Pierre-Auguste Renoir. I use bold brush strokes in creating my pieces. It's about conveying the feeling, the mood, and the spirit of the moment.

Among my favourite artists are Renoir himself, as well as Australian talents like Howard Arkley and Jeffrey Smart, whose works will always continue to inspire my own.

One of the most treasured gifts I've ever received was an art station from my husband, which has become my haven for creativity and experimentation.

I would love to be involved in any public art initiatives or another dream of mine is to illustrate a children's book if there are any authors in the light council region who are looking for an artist.

I am currently involved in the Arts on the Plains Festival and Trinity College SALA event too.

I love creating art in all its forms and hope to continue exploring different methods and media for years to come. Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey and for visiting my page 🥰.
