The town 48 km north-east of Gawler was surveyed in 1847-48 for J.H. Angas by Thomas Burr and Frederick Sinnett and named after a town in Cornwall, England.
Truro War Memorial and Pioneer Park
A traditional white marbel memorial with a soldier standing at attention. A more modern memorial sculputre is across the road made from Austral Juperana Rock surrounded with Red Cross Roses and Gallipoli Rosemary.
