On 1 January 2019 the Local Government (Boundary Adjustment) Amendment Act 2017 commenced, considerably restructuring the boundary reform processes within The Local Government Act 1999. The South Australian Local Government Boundaries Commission (Boundaries Commission) is an independent body that has been tasked with assessing and investigating submissions into boundary changes.
The Town of Gawler and The Barossa Council have both resolved to submit proposals to the Boundaries Commission, seeking adjustment of Council boundaries.
Light Regional Council takes the initiative on council boundary reform with visionary proposal for maximum benefit to residents and the region.
