He is a former Senior Sergeant of Police, with 40 years of service, including 16 years managing operations across the Barossa Valley. Following his police career, Martin spent 2 years as Business Manager of a Port Adelaide Shipyard, gaining insight into small business operations.

Reflecting on his election, Martin said: “I look forward to the challenge of being your Councillor for Mudla Wirra Ward. I’m excited and curious to learn more about the workings of a medium sized hybrid council. I believe I’m a good listener, levelheaded and will bring my broad life, work and volunteering experiences to the role. I want our Council to be about more than road, rates and rubbish, and will listen to you as we form our vision for the future”.
