The Barossa & Light Community Transport fortnightly shopping bus service re-commenced on 7 July 2020, following COVID-19 physical distancing, density, and hygiene requirements.
Community car services are continuing to operate with a limited pool of volunteer drivers.
The Barossa and Light Community Transport scheme was developed to assist those in the community who are transport disadvantaged, including the aged, frail and younger disabled residents without easy access to transport.
This service is managed by The Barossa Council. For more information about eligibility criteria and costs please visit their website or contact the transport coordinators on (08) 8563 8411 Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Barossa and Light Community Transport scheme includes personal car service which caters for wheelchair clients, and community shopping buses. The scheme owns and operates six cars, one flash cab and manages the Great Revival Community Car, plus volunteers own vehicles.
Volunteers are required to keep the scheme operating effectively. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver, please contact the Transport Coordinators.
