Community Transport

This scheme was developed to assist those in the community who are transport disadvantaged, including the aged, frail and younger disabled residents without easy access to transport.  Contact the Co-ordinators for eligibility criteria.

Transport includes personal car service which caters for wheelchair clients and community shopping buses. The scheme owns and operates six cars, one flash cab and manages the GR Community Car, plus volunteers own vehicles. 

Volunteers are required to keep the scheme operating effectively. If you are able to help on an occasional basis, please contact the Transport Co-ordinators.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR HELP:

  • You may not own or drive a vehicle.
  • You may be frail, elderly, isolated or have a disability.
  • You may not have access to transport.
  • You may need to attend a medical appointment and have been advised that you cannot drive home.
  • Family or friends who usually assist you are unavailable.
  • You may be temporarily transport disadvantaged for other reasons.

COMMUNITY BUS

Travels from Nuriootpa,Angaston, Tanunda & Lyndoch Every 1st Monday of each month going to Munno Para and Elizabeth via Gawler and Every 3rd Monday of each month via Williamstown. It then goes to Munno Para & Elizabeth also via Gawler.

It also travels from Angaston, Nuriootpa, Tanunda, Williamstown & Lyndoch Every Friday stopping just at Gawler.

As well as from Kapunda & Freeling Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month to Munno Para and Elizabeth via Gawler.

It is important to book a seat on the Bus.

DIAL A RIDE - $5.00 a ride

Daytime public door to door service, within and between the townships of Tanunda, Nuriootpa and Angaston

This service is provided by BV Coaches. However 2 Hours notice is required.

COMMUNITY CAR SERVICE

The community car service is available for transport to medical appointments.  (Locally and in Adelaide) or

Transport to shopping centres, hairdressers, banks, chemists, visiting friends, or attending functions. (Conditions apply)

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

This vehicle holds 3 passengers, 1 wheelchair passenger and the driver.

   Trips include:

  • Medical appointments
  • Shopping
  • Visiting

Quick and easy entry for the wheelchair passenger through the rear ramp.

Excellent visibility for the wheelchair passenger.
