Council Wards

The District Council of Kapunda and Light was formed on 1 March, 1996 through the amalgamation of the former District Councils of Kapunda and District Council of Light. Since that time, Council has developed a five year strategic plan that acknowledges its accountability to ratepayers for the development of community values and safeguarding ratepayer's funds.

Council aims to achieve these objectives through the adoption and monitoring of corporate strategies, plans, policies and performance; the annual review of senior management performance, conduct and reward; the monitoring of major risks to Council and by ensuring Council has policies and procedures to satisfy its legal compliance and ethical responsibilities. Council underwent a name change on 1 July 2000 and since that time has been known as Light Regional Council.

The Council area is divided into four Wards - Dutton, Light, Mudla Wirra and Laucke Ward.
