Customer Action Team (CAT)
The Council's Customer Action Team (CAT) was launched on the 29 August 2011, the program is aimed at addressing ratepayer and customer enquiries relating to works in the field. This team will be a dedicated resource aimed at providing a responsive service to the community and in many cases will be able to address customer issues within 48 hours of Council receiving the request.
The two-person work crew will be responsible for undertaking a range of minor tasks, including,
- Graffiti removal
- Sign replacement/installation
- Sign cleaning
- Minor drain clearing
- Minor footpath repairs
- Minor building maintenance
- Rubbish removal/collection
- Minor tree trimming
- Making sites safe whilst repair/maintenance is programmed
The introduction of this Customer Action Team is a "back to basics" approach in attending to those requests from residents and other maintenance tasks that are often put to one side when resources are required for more major works. This Team will allow Council to have a presence in each town on a rotating basis and tasks will be scheduled accordingly.
Members of the public are encouraged to call Light Regional Council on (08) 8525 3200 or complete an Online Customer Request Form for action.

Through the LGA (Local Government Association), SA Councils are currently running a campaign to raise awareness about the wide range of functions they do for their communities and the jobs which support those roles. Our Council was asked to participate in this awareness campaign by featuring in a short Youtube video clip.
